Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams has revealed that Ghana has successfully obtained broadcast rights for the 2026 FIFA World Cup through government backing and ongoing fundraising activities.
Speaking during the presentation of a GH¢5 million contribution from GCB Bank to the Black Stars fundraising campaign, the minister stated that plans are in place for the World Cup matches to be aired live on various media platforms across Ghana.

According to Kofi Adams, the combined efforts of the government and the fundraising drive made it possible to secure the rights to broadcast the tournament live for Ghanaian audiences.
The GH¢5 million donation by GCB Bank is part of broader efforts to mobilise financial support for the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The government introduced the fundraising campaign to encourage corporate institutions and other stakeholders to support the national team as preparations intensify for the tournament, which will be hosted jointly by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
