Ghana’s Black Stars have been drawn to face England, Croatia and Panama in the group stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The team will open their campaign against Panama on Wednesday, June 17, in Dallas, USA.
The 2026 tournament, jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, begins on June 11 and concludes with the final on July 26 at MetLife Stadium. This edition marks the expansion of the World Cup from 32 to 48 participating teams, arranged into 12 groups of four. An additional 22 countries will battle in playoff matches in March to secure the last six spots.
Spanning June 11 to July 19, the competition will be played across 16 stadiums in North America, with the total number of matches increasing from 64 to 104. The United States will host 78 fixtures across 11 NFL stadiums, including all games from the quarterfinal stage onward, while Canada and Mexico will each stage 13 matches.
The final, set for MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, will also include the first-ever halftime show in World Cup history.
Under the revised format, group winners, runners-up, and the eight best third-placed teams will advance to a new round of 32. The team that goes on to win the tournament will play eight matches in all.
