Saudi Pro League outfit Damac FC have reportedly renewed their pursuit of Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare after the Ghana international impressed with his performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The experienced shot-stopper significantly boosted his reputation during the tournament, producing a string of outstanding displays for the Black Stars that have drawn attention from clubs outside Ghana.
Reports indicate that Damac FC initially attempted to sign Asare last year but have now returned with an improved offer as they step up efforts to secure the 33-year-old’s services.
Negotiations between the Saudi Arabian club and Hearts of Oak are said to be ongoing, with both sides exploring the possibility of completing a transfer.
The renewed interest comes amid increasing speculation over Asare’s future following his impressive World Cup campaign.
Earlier reports suggested Hearts of Oak were demanding more than $200,000 to release their captain.
However, the Ghana Premier League side has rejected those claims, insisting that no official valuation has been placed on the goalkeeper.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, July 15, Hearts of Oak described the reported transfer fee as inaccurate and lacking any factual basis.
“Hearts of Oak has not placed any valuation on Benjamin Asare and has not authorised any individual or media organisation to communicate a transfer fee or asking price on the club’s behalf,” the statement read.
Although the club has denied setting an asking price, Hearts of Oak acknowledged that it remains open to considering offers that serve the best interests of both the player and the club.
With Damac FC maintaining strong interest in the Ghana international, the coming weeks are expected to be crucial as Benjamin Asare considers a potential move abroad following his impressive performances on football’s biggest stage.
