Legal expert Moses Foh-Amoaning has sharply criticized Black Stars coach Otto Addo, claiming he is unqualified to lead the national team.
Addo, 48, was reinstated in March 2024 but has come under heavy criticism following Ghana’s failure to secure a spot in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
To strengthen the coaching staff, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) brought in seasoned German coach and former AFCON champion Winfried Schäfer as a technical advisor.
Speaking on Kumasi’s Oyerepa FM after Ghana’s lacklustre World Cup qualifying matches against Chad and Mali in September, Foh-Amoaning was blunt, stating, “Otto Addo is not fit for the Black Stars job.
He is more of a scout coach, gaining experience on the job like an intern. The GFA recognises this, which is why Schäfer was added to improve the technical team.”
Despite these critiques, Ghana currently leads Group I with 19 points and aims to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup as they prepare to face the Central African Republic and Comoros in October’s crucial qualifiers.
