The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced the full fixture list for the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League, confirming opening weekend matches, the dates for the highly anticipated Super Clash, and several regional derby encounters.
The new season will begin from September 4 to 7, 2026, with all 18 clubs kicking off their campaigns in pursuit of the league title.
Medeama start title defence on the road
Defending champions Medeama SC will begin their quest to retain the trophy with an away fixture against Dreams FC. Last season’s runners-up, Bibiani Gold Stars, also face a challenging start as they travel to Bechem United.

Newly promoted Debibi United FC will mark their historic Premier League debut with a home fixture against Asante Kotoko, while fellow newcomers Port City FC welcome FC AshantiGold 04 in the first top-flight meeting between the two clubs.
Elsewhere on the opening weekend, Hearts of Oak host Berekum Chelsea in Accra, Basake Holy Stars entertain Swedru All Blacks, Vision FC face Young Apostles, FC Samartex 1996 take on Karela United, and Heart of Lions welcome Aduana FC.
Super Clash scheduled for December and May

The season’s first Super Clash between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak will be played on Matchday 13, between December 4 and 7, 2026, with Kotoko serving as hosts.
The reverse fixture is scheduled for Matchday 30, from April 30 to May 3, 2027, when Hearts of Oak will host their long-time rivals. Both encounters are expected to play a significant role in the race for the league title.
Regional rivalries headline the fixture list
The new fixture schedule also features several eagerly awaited regional derbies.
In the Brong Ahafo derby series, Debibi United will face Young Apostles on Matchday 3. Other notable fixtures include Debibi United against Berekum Chelsea (Matchday 6), Bechem United versus Debibi United (Matchday 8), Aduana FC against Bechem United (Matchday 11), Berekum Chelsea versus Young Apostles (Matchday 12), and Bechem United hosting Young Apostles on Matchday 14.

The Western Region will also produce several key clashes, including Medeama SC versus Basake Holy Stars (Matchday 4), Bibiani Gold Stars against Basake Holy Stars (Matchday 6), FC Samartex 1996 versus Medeama SC (Matchday 7), FC Samartex 1996 against Basake Holy Stars (Matchday 9), and Medeama SC hosting Bibiani Gold Stars on the same matchday.

Fans can also look forward to the Capital Derby between Vision FC and Hearts of Oak on Matchday 7, while the Ashanti Derby between FC AshantiGold 04 and Asante Kotoko is set for Matchday 8. The reverse fixture will take place on Matchday 25.
Season concludes in May 2027
The 2026/27 Ghana Premier League campaign will end between May 28 and 31, 2027, with several crucial fixtures on the final day.
The closing round will feature Hearts of Oak against Medeama SC, Basake Holy Stars versus Asante Kotoko, Vision FC against Swedru All Blacks, Bibiani Gold Stars hosting Karela United, and Debibi United facing Aduana FC.
According to the GFA, the season will be played over 34 match weekends without any scheduled midweek fixtures. The association says the arrangement is intended to reduce travel demands, improve player welfare, and provide clubs with adequate recovery time throughout the campaign.
With the fixtures now confirmed, clubs can intensify preparations for what is expected to be another competitive Ghana Premier League season, with teams battling for the championship, continental qualification, and survival.
