Carlos Queiroz has described his new role as head coach of the Ghana national football team as the most demanding task of his managerial career, stating that he is prepared to guide the team onto the global stage.
The seasoned Portuguese coach made the remarks during his official unveiling at the Alisa Hotel, where he spoke to the media ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana is set to make its fifth appearance at the tournament, which will be hosted across Canada, United States, and Mexico. Queiroz assumes leadership at a critical time as the Black Stars prepare to face some of the world’s strongest teams.
Addressing the gathering, the former Real Madrid manager acknowledged the scale of the challenge and expressed confidence in his ability to deliver.
He described the opportunity as the biggest test of his career and pledged to bring over four decades of experience and expertise to the role.
Queiroz also reassured Ghanaians of his commitment to steering the team toward a strong performance at the tournament.
The Black Stars have been placed in Group L alongside England national football team, Croatia national football team, and the Panama national football team.
Ghana will open their campaign on June 17 against Panama, followed by matches against England on June 23 and Croatia on June 27.
