Chelsea join race to sign Semenyo

Chelsea have reportedly joined the growing list of top Premier League clubs vying for the signature of Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo, further intensifying competition ahead of the January transfer window.

Renowned transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has disclosed that the Blues made an official enquiry on Tuesday to understand the terms and conditions surrounding a possible move for the Ghana international.

Chelsea’s approach places them in direct competition with Manchester United, Manchester City, and Liverpool, all of whom are monitoring the situation closely.

According to Romano, both Manchester United and Manchester City have already been in discussions with Semenyo’s representatives for several days, as they explore the feasibility of a deal.

These talks are said to be ongoing, with the clubs carefully assessing whether to activate the attacker’s release clause. Liverpool, on the other hand, are no strangers to the player, having shown a long-standing interest in him after first adding his name to their shortlist back in November.

Antoine Semenyo has been one of Bournemouth’s most impressive performers this season, consistently delivering strong performances that have caught the attention of scouts across the league.

Known for his explosive pace, physical strength, and ability to operate in multiple attacking roles, the 24-year-old has become a vital asset for the Cherries and a standout figure in their campaign.

His impressive form has naturally made him an attractive target for clubs looking to strengthen their attacking options midway through the season. Reports indicate that Semenyo’s contract includes a £65 million release clause, which is due to expire on January 10.

This looming deadline has added a sense of urgency to the negotiations, with interested clubs expected to make swift decisions as they consider their next steps in what is shaping up to be a highly competitive transfer race.
