Lawyers representing the Fosu Royal Family of Parkoso and Nsuta have issued a response to complaints made by Akosua Serwah Fosuh, based in Germany, regarding matters related to the funeral and estate of the late highlife legend, Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, popularly known as Daddy Lumba.
In a letter dated October 1, 2025, and signed by Fati Ali-Yallah of Baba Jamal & Associates, the legal team stated that they were acting on behalf of the Fosu Family. They clarified that Mrs. Fosuh does not have the authority to dictate how the family should organize the funeral of the late musician.
The lawyers explained that Akosua Serwah Fosuh, who was once married to Daddy Lumba, declined to move to Ghana when the musician fell seriously ill about 15 years ago.
They added that her actions constituted desertion and that she later presented traditional drinks to officially end the marriage, a process accepted under Akan customary law.
Furthermore, the legal representatives confirmed that the family recognizes Priscilla Ofori, widely known as Odo Broni, as Daddy Lumba’s wife. They noted that she lived with the musician for over 15 years, and together they had six children.
On the issue of property distribution, the lawyers emphasized that all assets belonging to Daddy Lumba are part of his estate and will be jointly managed by the family and his children to ensure fair and lawful distribution. They cautioned everyone against interfering with the properties until the legal process is concluded.
The letter also revealed that the law firm possesses certain directives left by Daddy Lumba before his passing, which will serve as guidance for the family regarding his funeral plans and estate management.
The Fosu Royal Family, through their lawyers, appealed for calm and encouraged all parties, including Akosua Serwah Fosuh, to engage in peaceful dialogue to ensure a respectful and fitting farewell for the late music legend.
