FIFA President Gianni Infantino has confirmed that the proposed FIFA Forward Enterprise project has been withdrawn after consultations revealed significant divisions among stakeholders over the initiative.

In a statement issued by FIFA Media, Infantino explained that the project was originally developed to strengthen FIFA’s Member Associations and promote the development of football worldwide, particularly in nations that require greater financial and technical support.

According to the FIFA President, the proposal was intended to move forward only if it received broad support from FIFA Member Associations following extensive consultations with the FIFA Council, continental confederations, and other key stakeholders.

However, after reviewing the feedback received, Infantino said it became evident that the proposal had generated disagreements that conflicted with its primary objective of advancing the global game.

“After carefully considering the views expressed, it became clear that the project had created divisions which, irrespective of the level of support, no longer served the purpose for which it was conceived,” he said.

As a result, FIFA has decided not to proceed with the FIFA Forward Enterprise proposal.

Infantino stressed that FIFA’s foremost responsibility is to foster unity within world football and support the sport’s continued growth across all regions.

He further announced plans to engage stakeholders in the coming weeks to rebuild consensus and identify new ways of advancing football development, particularly in countries that need the greatest support.

The FIFA President expressed optimism that renewed dialogue would help bring all parties together to pursue the shared goal of expanding and strengthening football globally.
