A woman has triggered widespread online reactions after revealing that her boyfriend allegedly ended their six-year relationship over a costly bride price list, reigniting conversations about tradition versus modern realities.
The story quickly went viral after she claimed her partner walked away from the relationship due to what many have described as an excessive list of marriage demands, including livestock, large sums of money, and luxury items.

According to details shared online, the list presented to the man included five cows, 50 broiler chickens, 30 goats, 5,100 bags of cement, 500 tubers of yam, ₦10 million for the family, ₦5 million for the community, and high-end gifts such as an iPhone 17 Air for the bride’s mother and an iPhone 17 Pro Max for her father, among other items.
In a viral video, the visibly distressed woman said the relationship ended shortly after her boyfriend received the list.
She explained that although he had initially asked for it, he later blocked her on all platforms, cutting off communication despite her attempts to reach him.
Despite the scale of the demands, she insisted her boyfriend could afford them, adding another layer to the ongoing online discussion.
