The National Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF) has published the 2026/2027 Academic Calendar for all public Colleges of Education across Ghana.

The calendar, dated August 14, 2026, is intended to guide the scheduling and coordination of academic activities throughout the new academic year.

In a communication to relevant stakeholders, the PRINCOF Secretariat directed Colleges of Education to use the approved calendar as the basis for organizing academic programs and activities.

The schedule provides key dates for student reporting, macro teaching, semester sessions, vacations, and examinations for Levels 100, 200, 300 and 400.

Level 400 Students Resume in September

Level 400 students will be the first group to commence activities under the new academic calendar.

They are expected to report to their colleges on September 7, 2026, for orientation ahead of their macro teaching program.

On September 11, they will move to their respective teaching stations to begin the practical teaching component of their program.

The macro teaching exercise is expected to run until February 20, 2027.

Levels 100, 200, and 300 Begin First Semester in October

Students at Levels 100, 200 and 300 are scheduled to report to campus on October 12, 2026, to begin the first session of the first semester.

The initial session will last 10 weeks before students break for the Christmas holidays on December 19, 2026.

They are expected to return to campus on January 11, 2027, for the second session of the semester, which will run for four weeks.

First semester examinations have been scheduled for January 25 to February 5, 2027.

After the examinations, students in levels 100, 200, and 300 students will begin their vacation on February 6, 2027.

The second semester starts in March.

The second semester will begin on March 22, 2027, with students from Levels 100, 200, 300, and 400 expected to return to campus.

The semester will span 14 weeks, after which students will sit for their end-of-semester examinations from June 14 to June 25, 2027.

All four levels will then proceed on vacation from June 26, 2027.

PRINCOF has urged Colleges of Education and other stakeholders to rely on the approved academic calendar when planning and coordinating activities for the 2026/2027 academic year.
