Rihanna has achieved another major milestone in her career, becoming the first female artist to exceed 200 million RIAA-certified single units, based on recent data from the Recording Industry Association of America.

Her total now stands at 200.5 million units, ranking her third on the all-time list behind Drake and Morgan Wallen.

This accomplishment is especially remarkable considering she has not released a studio album in nearly ten years. Her last project, Anti, dropped in 2016, yet her music catalogue continues to thrive through strong streaming numbers and digital sales.

Many of her popular tracks—including UmbrellaWe Found LoveWorkStayNeeded Me, and Love on the Brain remain widely streamed across the world.

With this milestone, Rihanna joins a select group of artists with the highest certified units in the United States, further cementing her position as one of the most accomplished musicians of her era.

The RIAA, which tracks music consumption in the U.S., determines certifications by combining both sales and streaming data.

Awards are based on specific thresholds, with Gold representing 500,000 units, Platinum 1 million units, and Diamond 10 million units.

In the modern music industry, certification units go beyond pure sales. Streaming plays a major role, as a defined number of streams are converted into equivalent sales units.

This approach enables the simultaneous measurement of traditional purchases and current listening trends.

Rihanna’s latest feat goes beyond statistics. It underscores the lasting popularity of her music and its continued relevance years after release.

Despite balancing her music career with business ventures and motherhood, she continues to maintain a powerful global influence and cultural presence.
