The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) is expected to publish the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results on Monday, July 20, 2026, according to the Council’s Head of Public Affairs, John Kapi.
The release of the results will mark the beginning of the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS), enabling successful candidates to secure admission into Senior High Schools (SHSs), Senior High Technical Schools (SHTSs), and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions for the 2026/2027 academic year.

How to Check the 2026 BECE Results
Candidates can access their results online by following these steps:
- Visit the official WAEC Results Portal.
- Enter your BECE Index Number.
- Select BECE School as the examination type.
- Choose 2026 as the examination year.
- Input your Results Checker Serial Number and PIN.
- Complete the security verification if prompted.
- Click Submit to view your results and print a copy if needed.
WAEC advises candidates to save or print their results for future use, especially during the school placement and admission process.
How to Purchase a Results Checker
Candidates who do not have a results checker can purchase one through the official USSD code *789*444#.
The Council has urged candidates and parents to obtain results checkers only from authorised vendors to avoid falling victim to fraud.

WAEC Warns Against Scammers
WAEC has once again cautioned the public against individuals and websites claiming they can alter examination results or provide early access to them in exchange for money.
According to the Council, all BECE results remain secure and can only be accessed through its official results portal once they are officially released.
What Happens After the Results Are Released?
Once the results are published, successful candidates will move on to the CSSPS placement process for admission into second-cycle institutions.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) is expected to announce the timetable for school placement shortly after the release of the results.
Candidates are also encouraged to keep their index numbers, results checker PINs, and serial numbers in a safe place, as they will be needed during the placement and admission process.
