President John Dramani Mahama’s approval rating has risen to 71%, the highest score recorded for any Ghanaian president in Global InfoAnalytics’ regular tracking polls since 2020.
According to the research firm’s June 2026 National Tracking Poll, 71% of respondents expressed satisfaction with the president’s performance, representing a four-percentage-point increase from the 67% approval rating recorded in March 2026. Meanwhile, 23% disapproved of his performance, while 6% remained undecided.
Global InfoAnalytics noted that the latest figure sets a new benchmark for presidential approval ratings in its governance and performance surveys.

The survey revealed that Mahama enjoys majority support across all regions of the country. The highest approval rating was recorded in the Savannah Region, where 86% of respondents endorsed his performance. Western North followed with 82%, while the Bono Region registered 80%.
The president also received strong ratings in the Volta and Western regions, where 76% of respondents approved of his leadership.
In Greater Accra, his approval stood at 73%, while the Ashanti Region recorded a comparatively lower rating of 55%. The Ahafo Region posted the lowest approval level at 40%.
Political affiliation also influenced perceptions of the president’s performance. Among supporters of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), 91% expressed approval.
The survey further found that 65% of independent or floating voters approved of his performance. Among New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters, 37% endorsed his leadership, while 54% expressed disapproval.

The poll also reflected growing optimism about the country’s direction. A total of 66% of respondents said Ghana was moving in the right direction, compared to 27% who believed the country was heading in the wrong direction.
The survey was conducted between May 30 and June 12, 2026, and involved 8,784 registered voters drawn from all 16 regions and 84 constituencies nationwide.
