The Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwah, has disclosed that 72 percent of Ghanaians surveyed approve of President John Dramani Mahama’s performance in office.
The latest survey by the research firm showed that 21 percent of respondents were dissatisfied with the president’s performance, while seven percent said they had no opinion.
Speaking on Channel One TV’s The Point of View on Wednesday, August 12, Mr. Dankwah explained that the figures reflected public assessment of the president’s personal performance in office.
He said the 72 percent approval rating represented a strong level of support for the president, describing the overall response as a positive assessment of his current term.
Upper West records highest approval
The Upper West Region recorded the highest approval rating for President Mahama, with 92 percent of respondents expressing satisfaction with his performance.
The Volta Region followed with an 88 per cent approval rating, while the Northern Region recorded 72 per cent and the Eastern Region 71 per cent.
The lowest approval figures were recorded in the Ashanti and Northeast regions, where 56 percent and 59 percent of respondents, respectively, approved of the president’s performance.
Survey covers 7,700 respondents.
According to Dankwah, the poll was based on 7,700 completed interviews and has a margin of error of plus or minus 1.5 percentage points.
The survey was conducted between July 15 and 24, 2026, and is intended to serve as the baseline for a series of periodic surveys Global InfoAnalytics plans to undertake ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Majority say Ghana is on the right path.
The survey also assessed public perception of the country’s overall direction.
About 60 per cent of respondents said Ghana was moving in the right direction, compared with 28 per cent who believed the country was heading in the wrong direction.
On living standards, 53 percent of those surveyed said their standard of living had improved compared with the previous year.
Meanwhile, 19 percent reported that their living conditions had deteriorated over the same period.
