The manager of late Ghanaian actress and entrepreneur Beverly Afaglo has disclosed that she died after battling cancer for two years.
In an interview with Ghana Weekend on Sunday, May 24, Abu Iddris confirmed that the actress passed away on Saturday night at the International Maritime Hospital in Tema at the age of 42.
According to him, Beverly had been fighting cancer for the past two years and showed remarkable strength throughout the difficult period.
“She fought tirelessly during her illness, but unfortunately the battle came to an end,” he stated.
Beverly Afaglo’s cause of death revealed
Iddris explained that the disease initially started as breast cancer before later spreading because of its genetic nature. Despite her worsening health condition, Beverly Afaglo continued to stay active in her career and family life while receiving treatment.
He revealed that the actress remained involved in movie productions, premieres, and promotional activities even during treatment.
“We continued filming projects with her while she was undergoing treatment. She kept pushing herself and doing her best until the illness became overwhelming,” he added.
The manager further disclosed that Beverly travelled to the United States for medical treatment and was encouraged to stay there due to the quality of healthcare available. However, she decided to return to Ghana so she could spend more time with her children.
According to Iddris, the actress made the decision fully aware of her condition because family meant a lot to her.
