The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has assured education and health sector workers affected by salary arrears that payments have begun and will be completed according to an approved timetable.

In a statement signed by the Head of Public Relations, Cephas N. Dosoo, the Department explained that the arrears, which date back to August 2024, will be paid in four instalments over a four-month period, with each instalment covering four months of outstanding payments.

According to the schedule outlined, beneficiaries will receive their arrears as follows:

  • May 2026: four months’ arrears

  • June 2026: four months’ arrears

  • July 2026: four months’ arrears

  • August 2026: four months’ arrears

The CAGD added that the first batch of payments is expected to be fully completed by Friday, May 29, 2026.

It further stated that subsequent payments will continue strictly in line with the approved timetable until all outstanding arrears are fully settled.

The Department also expressed gratitude to affected workers for their patience and cooperation during the implementation process.
