The National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, has announced that the party will stage a march to the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) on Monday, July 13, to demand an explanation for the arrest of Dennis Miracles Aboagye.
According to Nana Boakye, the demonstration is aimed at obtaining clarity on the circumstances surrounding the arrest, which the party believes is part of an effort to intimidate members of the opposition.
Speaking on Channel One News on Sunday, July 12, he claimed that Aboagye was taken into custody without receiving any prior invitation or notification from EOCO regarding an investigation or any alleged offense.

Nana Boakye expressed concern over what he described as the growing use of state institutions to target political opponents, arguing that such actions threaten the country’s democratic values.
“Miracles has not received any invitation from EOCO. He has not been informed of any wrongdoing. He has not been told that he is under any form of investigation,” he said.
The NPP official emphasized that the party is committed to accountability and would not obstruct any lawful investigation involving its members. However, he maintained that the authorities must adhere to due process and respect the rights of individuals.
His remarks come after the NPP’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, alleged in a Facebook post that Aboagye was arrested by EOCO officials with the assistance of Immigration officers at the Accra International Airport.
Kodua further claimed that Aboagye’s legal team has been denied access to him, his whereabouts remain unknown, and no formal charges have been brought against him.
As of the time of publication, EOCO had not issued any public statement regarding the arrest or responded to the allegations raised by the NPP.
