The Ghanaian fashion industry has been thrown into mourning following the death of celebrated fashion designer Sadia Sanusi.
Reports indicate that Sadia passed away in the early hours of Sunday, June 14, 2026. While the exact cause of death has not been officially disclosed, sources suggest that she died in her sleep.

Her untimely passing has sent shockwaves through Ghana’s creative and fashion sectors, where she earned widespread recognition for blending her rich textile heritage with contemporary global fashion trends.

Tragically, Sadia’s death comes at a time when she was preparing to celebrate a decade in the fashion industry. A masterclass had been scheduled for next week as part of activities marking her 10th anniversary.

Beyond her achievements in fashion, Sadia was also known for her success in pageantry. She emerged as the second runner-up in Miss Malaika Ghana 2012 and won the Miss Talent title for her exceptional performance during the competition.
She attended Accra Girls’ Senior High School before pursuing higher education at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in communication design.
