Why this opportunity matters

The Ghana–Jamaica health worker exchange is part of a growing South-South cooperation framework between developing nations seeking to strengthen their public health systems.

For Ghanaian health professionals, it represents an opportunity to practise in a different health system, gain international clinical exposure, and earn at internationally competitive rates all under a government-to-government arrangement that provides a layer of institutional security rarely found in private overseas placements.

Speciality areas such as neonatology, oncology, nephrology, and cardiology are in high demand globally. Professionals in these fields who also hold a strong employment record and good standing with the Nursing or Medical Council are ideally positioned to qualify.

One practical note: the CID criminal record certificate must cover only the past six months, which means applicants need a relatively recent document. If you have not already obtained yours, do so immediately given how tight the deadline is.

Important: Unsuitable applications will not be acknowledged. Ensure every document is in order before submitting. The portal closes at the end of business on Friday, 5 June 2026.
