Thousands of applicants who participated in the 2026 Ghana Education Service (GES) recruitment exercise are still awaiting information on when appointment letters will be released to successful candidates.
Out of the nearly 40,000 individuals who applied, only about 7,000 are expected to secure positions, making the recruitment process highly competitive and increasing anxiety among applicants.

In recent weeks, many applicants have turned to social media to seek updates on the progress of the recruitment exercise and the issuance of appointment letters.
Concerns have grown over the delay, especially following the duty reporting date previously announced by the Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu.
Investigations conducted indicate that the document verification process being carried out by the Ghana Education Service is nearing completion.
Sources close to the exercise revealed that the validation of applicants’ academic and professional credentials has reached its final stages.

Information gathered further suggests that GES is likely to issue an official communication in the coming days to provide updates on the release of appointment letters and outline the next steps in the recruitment process.
Meanwhile, the Minister for Education has already hinted at the expected reporting date for newly recruited staff. Speaking in Parliament, Haruna Iddrisu announced that successful applicants recruited by the Ghana Education Service are expected to officially begin work on July 1, 2026.
