The Ghana Police Service has arrested six private security guards in connection with a shooting incident involving former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament Sarah Adwoa Safo, which occurred at Kwabenya on 21 June 2026.

According to a statement from the police, a follow-up search at the scene led to the retrieval of five pump-action guns, a Taurus pistol loaded with seven rounds of 9mm ammunition, an extra magazine containing five additional 9mm rounds, and several communication devices.

Preliminary findings suggest that officers from the National Operations Directorate and the Intelligence Directorate, who were on special assignment, responded to a distress call from a residence at Kwabenya and moved to the location.
