The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has announced a one-week extension of its ongoing recruitment exercise due to technical difficulties experienced on its online application portal.
In a press release dated October 31, 2025, and issued in Accra by the Department of Public Relations at the General Headquarters, Burma Camp, GAF stated that the new deadline for applications is now November 7, 2025.
According to the statement, signed by Colonel Evelyn Ntiamoah Asamoah, Acting Director General of Public Relations, the extension was necessary to allow all applicants adequate time to complete their submissions.
The statement also apologised for the inconvenience caused and urged applicants and the general public to remain patient and cooperative.
The recruitment exercise, which began on October 1, 2025, involves registration and verification centres in all 16 regional capitals. It forms part of the government’s broader plan to recruit about 12,000 new personnel into the Armed Forces over the next three years.
Applicants are required to buy an electronic recruitment voucher worth GH¢200 from designated Ghana Post offices before accessing the official portal at apply.mil.gh. The process covers enlistment into the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
Eligible candidates must be Ghanaian citizens by birth, possess good character, and fall within the age range of 18 to 25 years for non-tradesmen and up to 27 years for tradesmen.
The Armed Forces further cautioned the public against fraudulent recruitment websites and fake social media accounts on platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram. It emphasized that all official recruitment announcements are published only in the Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times newspapers.
Earlier in October, the Cyber Security Authority reported discovering 86 fake social media accounts posing as the GAF and engaging in recruitment scams within just one week.
Deputy Defence Minister Brogya Genfi reaffirmed that joining the military “is not for sale” and stressed that the recruitment process remains transparent, fair, and merit-based.
Prospective applicants now have until November 7, 2025, to complete and submit their forms via the official GAF recruitment portal.
