The Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG) has confirmed the death of a 53-year-old Ghanaian pilgrim, Musah Sidi, during Hajj activities in Mecca.
According to the office, the deceased collapsed while performing Tawaf at the Haram the ritual of walking around the Kaaba and died shortly afterwards.
PAOG stated that his family has officially been informed, and preparations are being made for Janaza prayers to be held after Friday’s Jumu’ah prayers before his burial.
The statement also noted that, in Islamic belief, pilgrims who die while in a state of worship and wearing Ihram are regarded as receiving great spiritual blessings in the afterlife.
The office further expressed sympathy to the family and loved ones of the deceased, praying for Allah’s mercy and for him to be granted Jannatul Firdaus.
