Ghanaian broadcaster Nana Aba Anamoah has praised the current administration for improving the country’s economic situation since taking office roughly a year ago.
Speaking to Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM’s Showbiz A–Z, she said that while it may still be early to pass a final verdict, the government’s performance so far surpasses that of the previous administration in its final years.
She rated the government between 75 and 80 percent, crediting President John Dramani Mahama for restoring stability to the economy. She also applauded the Finance Minister for what she described as strong performance, adding that the current economic conditions are far better than they were three to four years ago.
Nana Aba further criticised officials from the former administration, accusing many of displaying arrogance. She argued that their public comments, particularly on radio, often came across as dismissive and disrespectful toward journalists.
Reflecting on Mahama’s earlier tenure, she acknowledged that similar attitudes existed during his first term but suggested that he appears to have learned from those experiences. Although she admitted it may be too soon to draw firm conclusions, she said the direction of the government looks promising and expressed satisfaction with its work so far.
She also commended Gender Minister Agnes Naa Momo Lartey for being responsive to concerns and praised Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa for his accessibility.
